The Champion office for Brevard County is located in the small beachside town of Indialantic.  Owned and operated by longtime local residents Susan and Barry Ebert and son, Drew Smith, ours has been a family business from the start.  We believe that all of our clients should maintain a feeling of independence and, like us, take comfort in knowing that they can live comfortably in their own homes for as long as possible.

Susan is an Independent Living Counselor and Grief Facilitator with a Ph.D in Holistic Theology.  Her compassion and acceptance for all is apparent in her gentle loving nature and she will help you and your loved ones feel at ease knowing that quality of life and the Golden Rule are values she is most passionate about.   Susan is a past recipient of the annual Florida Today Volunteer of the Year Award for Brevard County.  It is her desire to make sure the quality care provided by our professional caregivers is the very best available.

Barry has an extensive background in finance and business, both in public companies and private firms.  He did his undergraduate work at Princeton University and later earned an MBA degree at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.  Since 1996, he has owned his own commercial real estate firm in Melbourne.  Prior to that, Barry served for several years as a founding board member and financial consultant to Logan Square East, the first high rise assisted living and nursing facility in Center City, Philadelphia.  During that time, he also acted as board liaison to family members of residents who had been touched by Alzheimer’s.  Since then, Barry’s mother and only sibling, his brother, also became diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and over the years both have been blessed with companions who were instrumental in enhancing the quality of their lives.  “The joy and smiles I’ve seen over the years in the faces of elders and those who have lost a skill or two – all brought about by a knowledgeable caregiver – are memories I’ll cherish forever.”

Office Manager and co-owner Drew Smith keeps our operations running smoothly.  Educated at the University of Florida, Drew thrives on preparedness and staying on point.  He has a gentle disposition and is extremely compassionate.  He often lends a welcome ear to our caregivers, clients and their family members.

Our Director of Nursing, Dadline St. Luc-Fils Aime RN, BSN, is very excited to be a part of the Champion team.  She shares our views and believes in caring for each and every client just as if he or she were a member of her own family.

And that’s our philosophy – to provide the same professional loving care for your loved one as we would provide for our own family member.  In doing so, we seek to achieve our main mission – to extend and maximize the quality of life by allowing our clients to live at home safely and comfortably for as long as they possibly can.
